In our not so far away culture of this land, little girls with white dresses and made up faces, waited for an strange groom, chosen by their family. Most of us have heard memorize as such from our mothers and grandmothers, and have tried to understand the limitations and despair. When immature girls without access to technology and education, and even a social life, found themselves in a forced life and all the failure and loneliness would grow with them as they aged. But nowadays, rights such as choosing the spouse, the right to education or even working, have gifted our society with a sense of independence for women. But unfortunately, in corners of towns and villages, we still face brides so young and immature that try to regain their lost rights , years after marriage and with a number of kids. In an era when education, information, media, technology and communications easily equip teens and adolescents with awareness, the
taste of bitterness becomes ever more bitter, leading to more efforts from women to reach their rights. The statistics of women under 20, filing for divorce, is proof of this problematic cultural phenomenon. In accordance with this aim, it was tried showing of "THE Doll", a series of paintings of wedding dress-clad young girls of our land is painted over the beautiful Iranian traditional and cultural patterns, and situated in a special area for the better understanding of the artworks.
The choice of the name of the series "THE Doll" represents both "A little bride" and "A Toy" in the hands of
children, whose sole duty is beauty and smiles, even under the harshest and most unjust treatment.
